A different day in New York: chocolate brunch, the High Line and a baseball game

If you feel like you’ve already seen everything that New York has to offer, here’s a way to spend your weekend a bit less like a tourist.

Max Brenner, on Broadway, is a restaurant and a shop offering a whole bunch of different chocolate dishes – including fondue and chocolate pizza. The ideal place for an indulgent brunch!

For a different walk, head down to the High Line, accessible through different Metro stops across New York. Formerly a railway line for freight trains carrying meet and various food, the High Line stopped being used once commerce moved onto the highways. In 2009 it was transformed into a park which includes shops and art.

Check out a few spots of historic New York in the Greenwich Village: the Old Jefferson Courthouse, a public library with a past as the court that held Mae West; and the Northern Dispensary, which gave health aid to the poor… As well as to Edgar Allan Poe.

What better way to end your day than a baseball game? Games at CitiField, home of the New York Mets, can be as cheap as $15 and are a great show even if you don’t understand anything about baseball. The music, the interviews, the suprise guests and the kiss-cam are an experience you can’t miss out on.
