3 London healthy-eating spots

I’m just about surviving the back-from-holiday blues – and I need to shed extra kilos courtesy of gelato off my legs. This doesn’t mean I can’t have fun: here are three great London healthy spots that won’t make you feel too guilty after a meal.IMG_1699

Daylesford Organic Marylebone

Daylesford Organic is a household name when it comes to healthy treats. Head there for one of their Salad Combos – three salads for £9, a mix of grains, greens and great cheese.IMG_0614

Have with: A strawberry bellini – they’re too good to be swapped for mocktails.IMG_0613

Ottolenghi Spitalfields

Ottolenghi serves tapas, so you might want to order three dishes to fill yourself up. Or, you could just order one and get dessert later. Pick their delicious crushed carrots, harissa, toasted hazelnuts and goat’s curd salad with pomegranate, an absolute must.

Have with: The Kumquat and Passion Fruit bloomer, with orange juice and kunquat squashed right in front of you, is the best way to enjoy the complimentary spicy nuts and olives you get when you sit at the bar.

Don’t miss: Ottolenghi’s dessert counter. One look and you will say goodbye to diet. Their zingy Passion Fruit Meringue is the best dessert I’ve had in London in a while, and their coconut and chocolate macaron is a delicate treat, perfect to finish a marvellous dinner.

The Modern Pantry

This Clerkenwell eatery just doesn’t get anything wrong. With a fusion menu sporting plenty of interesting options and a great, town house type decor, The Modern Pantry is always a great spot to enjoy healthy food. Go for their Roast Courgette, tofu and pear inari tempura in spiced soy broth, with grelot onions, confit girolles and mole rojo crumbs. You’ll never try anything like this crunchy, spicy main!IMG_0902-0

Have with: the yoghurt, passion fruit and turmeric smoothie. Sweet with a twist!
