Lunch BXD: healthy lunches for busy Londoners

Stylist’s “Reclaim your lunch break” and another bunch of campaigns are making it clear: it’s time to stop having a boring soup with crisps at your desks. But what if like me you have no time to make or buy a decent lunch? Enter Lunch BXD, a lunch delivery service that makes your mid-day meals everything but boring.

Lunch BXD is the creation of Leiths-trained chefs and avid entrepreneurs Naomi Twigden and Anna Pinder. It’s an uber-healthy meal that won’t give you junk food worries, but that will still keep you satisfied.

Your lunch will be delivered straight to your office or to your home by a bike courier. Although mine was late, my lunch box made up for it. Lunch BXD is so much more than salads: expect your box to contain a wide range of vegetables, wholesome grains, fresh herbs and zingy dressings or dips topped with crunchy nuts and seeds. Plus, those looking for extra protein can pimp their lunchbox with free-range meat or sustainably caught fish.

Lunch BXD is not diet focused. Founders Naomi and Anna want to show that food can be tasty and substantial, yet naturally healthy too. They work with a nutritionist to ensure balance in each and every Lunch BXD dish and that the ingredients will fill their customers with slow releasing energy.

To minimise waste, the team ensure that they create their recipes to order, selling out each day – their lucky staff eat any leftovers! All their packaging is 100% recyclable and is delivered the greenest way possible, by bicycle courier. Where possible, all products are sourced locally – the Lunch BXD offices are right next to a city farm, and all fruit and vegetables come from New Covent Garden Market.
