At the end of November, Manifest took us all to Lisbon for our very own Innovation summit, the Manifestival. The weather was awesome, the view even better and, of course, the food was top notch. Here are three places you just can’t miss in the Portuguese capital.
Home of traditional Portuguese pastries such as Pasteis de Nata (custard cakes), almond or egg and flour cakes, Casa Suica is one of the most respected “pastelarias” in town and the best place for brunch on a busy Sunday morning. Facing the beautiful Praça Dom Pedro IV, Casa Suica is cheap and perfect both with friends and alone. Just watch out for beggars and sellers on the main square – they might get a bit too insistent at peak times…
Situated in the popular Chiado neighbourhood and near the opera theatre, Café Lisboa is a winning mix of incredible food, perfect service and a central location. Try their sausage butter or curry sauce with home made bread and don’t miss out on their traditional octopus rice.
Drinks – Portas do Sol
With stunning views of the Lisbon harbour, this restaurant and bar is very close to the Castelo de Sao Jorge and makes a mean white Sangria for just €5. Unmissable!
