Yesterday night The Dead Dolls Club’s new venue, The Dolls’ House at the House of Wolf, opened its doors to the public for the first time. I was there (as always).
After closing its Hoxton doors late last month, the classy Dolls’ House relocated to 181 Upper Street at the House of Wolf, which the Dead Dolls Club re-decorated in its slick, decadent style in the record time of three weeks.
Yesterday night everyone on the guest list received two tokens in the form of poker cards to get free classic Dead Dolls Club cocktails and a selection of delicious canapés made of chicken, sea bass and vegetables.
A three-storey former Victorian clubhouse, the new Dolls’ House is even better than the first one: more spacious, even classier and with the licence to thrill… or rather, to close at 4am. Jazz raves will take place throughout the weekend, including during the much anticipated Dolls’ House Sunday Roasts from 12 to 7pm every Sunday. The House was packed on all its three floors – including the top’s beautiful, members-only ballroom.
The new venue is as decadent as you can expect a Dead Dolls Club cocktail bar to be: with their usual selection of great cocktails, amazing furniture and a shelf full of China dogs – a gift you can bring to Adam, the owner, to make up for the lack of dogs in his life – you just can’t help but have a good time.Â
Make sure you head down there this weekend for their grand opening: I, for one, can’t wait to get more of the House of Wolf.
