Few places scream ‘Feel Good Food’ like The Rum Kitchen. One of the latest additions to the already bustling Kingly Court, the restaurant is a mix of great beach vibes and tasty Caribbean food. Read on to find about more about the food joint of the summer.
I have already reviewed both Cahoots and Pizza Pilgrims, two of Kingly Court’s most representative hangouts. Now the tiny and lively food hub hosts The Rum Kitchen, an unmissable restaurant that’s set to put you in a good mood.
Head over to The Rum Kitchen at 6 pm to sip some of their delicious cocktails half price. If you can’t make their happy hour however, don’t miss out on their menu of fresh and beachy booze with interesting names: I had The Missionary’s Doom, with pineapple, mint infused Havana Club and apricot, perfect to quench my thirst after the spicy meal.
Choosing between the perfectly dressed sweet potato fries and their signature fried plantains with chilli isn’t easy… So you could just get both. I went for the plantains for the sake of diet and tried some fries too. 
The Jerk Chicken is a must for a main, so I added it to one of the most special salads I’ve ever tasted: The Rum Kitchen’s rainbow salad, made with roasted pumpkin,sliced red onion, red pepper, juicy mango, avocado, toasted coconut flakes & a mild scotch bonnet and lime dressing. The best meal for a summer evening! 
Sitting at The Rum Kitchen is very hard: the 00s R&B, soul and Jamaican dance music on the playlist will make you want to get up and dance, no matter how much you might have hated those tunes at the time.
I already know The Rum Kitchen will be one of my restaurants for the summer: cocktails, feel-good music and even more feel-good food? I’m sold!

Pochi ristoranti ti mettono di buon umore come The Rum Kitchen. Uno dei nuovi arrivi nella vivace Kingly Court, il ristorante unisce musica da spiaggia a saporite ricette caraibiche. Leggete qui per scoprire cosa aspettarvi dal ristorante dell’estate.
Ho già recensito Cahoots e Pizza Pilgrims, due dei locali più famosi di Kingly Court. Ora il mini-centro commerciale ospita anche The Rum Kitchen, un ristorante imperdibile che offre cocktail a metà prezzo ad ogni happy hour. Se non fate in tempo ad arrivare per l’aperitivo, potete comunque controllare il loro interessante menu di cocktail freschi e dai nomi particolari: io ho preso The Missionary’s Doom (La Malasorte del Missionario), con ananas, Havana Club alla menta e albicocca, il perfetto mix per dissetarmi dopo il chili piccante di uno dei miei piatti.
Non è facile scegliere tra le patate dolci fritte perfettamente condite o tra le plantains (banane da legume) fritte col chili. Per non sbagliare, potete prenderle tutte e due – o fare metà e metà con gli amici, come ho fatto io per amore della dieta.
Il pollo Jerk, piatto tipico dei Caraibi, è un must: io l’ho aggiunto alla buonissima Rainbow Salad, una delle insalate migliori che abbia mai provato a base di zucca arrosto, cipolla, peperoni, mango, avocado, cocco tostato e condimento al lime.  Il piatto migliore per una sera d’estate!
Stare seduti a The Rum Kitchen non è un’impresa facile: canzoni R&B degli anni 2000 e suoni della Giamaica vi faranno ballare sulla sedia. So già che The Rum Kitchen sarà uno dei miei ristoranti preferiti dell’estate: cocktail, musica allegra e cibo ancora migliore? Ci sto!
