September kicks off season for lavish, glamorous parties. Here’s one I can’t wait to check out: Bourne & Hollingsworth‘s Prohibition Party on Saturday 5th September.
Party connoisseurs Bourne & Hollingsworth are no strangers to great events: their brunch (reviewed here) is one of the best I’ve ever had. Â Now their famous Prohibition Party is coming back to kick-start the autumn party season and transport guests back to an era of fur-draped ladies and slick-haired gents.
Held in a secret location in East London, this wonderful soiree invites guests to relive the unrestrained partying of 1920s socialites. Guests can get footloose and fancy free to the enthralling big bands, or try their hand at the roulette table.
Throughout the evening, entertainment will include live bands, DJs on gramophones, dancing troupes and gambling tables to relive the spirit of the Golden Age. Revelers can sip on the free-flowing bootlegged booze and find cocktail menus hidden inside pages of books to escape the prying eye of the police.
The speakeasy atmosphere, decadent ensembles and tastefully themed venue call for gentlemen to wear tuxedos and spats and ladies to channel their inner Coco in tassels and pearls.
For those inclined to hone their Charleston steps to perfection, tickets are available for a dance class from 7pm – 8pm. Tickets are priced at £30 and cover the 1-hour dance class prior to the event, plus access to the party.
Next September parties by Bourne & Hollingsworth also include the Playback: Back to the 90s party and The Blitz Party.
Is it September yet?
