You haven’t done afternoon tea properly until you’ve hopped on the BB Bakery‘s Afternoon Tea Bus Tour, giving you a ride all across London’s most iconic landmarks while sipping tea and eating some damn fine pastries and cakes.
Set on a refurbished old double-decker Routemaster, the BB Bakery Afternoon Tea captures the heart of London’s culture, landmarks and history adding the cute element to an already cute tradition: high tea accompanied with an array of tasty sandwiches and delicious cakes and pastries.
Buses leave from 8 Northumberland Avenue, off Trafalgar Square, at 12:30 and 15:00, and from Victoria Coach Station at 12:00, 14:30 and 17:00.The London sightseeing tour lasts approximately one hour and 30 minutes, depending on traffic. A tour costs £45-48 per person, but that price tag is for a reason: it’s the best afternoon tea you’ll ever get.
Whether you’re a tourist or a local, boy or girl, on a date or out with your mum (like me), I dare you to find any fault in this outstanding choice of a day out. As soon as you get in, uniformed London bus drivers will take you upstairs, get your order and offer to take incredibly instagrammable pictures of you and your food.
As you ride around town seeing The London Eye, Big Ben, The Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, St James’s Park, Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park, The Royal Albert Hall, Marble Arch, Piccadilly Circus, Nelson’s Column, Downing Street and many more iconic sights, you’ll get to try sandwiches and pastries that make the BB Bakery’s the best afternoon tea in London.
Far from indulging in butter or ruining everything with uber portions, the BB Bakery does everything just right: from the salmon and cream cheese blinis to the turkey mini-butty, from the mini quiche to the ham and cheese sandwiches, everything savoury is top notch. It’s the sweet stuff however that has no match all over town: its cupcakes, macaroons, meringues and scones are out of this world.
At the end of the tour you can even take the lovely take-away plastic cups branded BB Bakery home.
I dare you to try the BB Bakery’s afternoon tea and not come out feeling loved and looked after. This is the afternoon tea experience. Ready, top up, go!

Ahhh this looks incredible! Definitely one on the to-do list.
It’s literally the cutest thing I’ve ever done. Don’t miss out on it 🙂
For a while we’d said we must give the B Bakery Afternoon Tea Bus Tour a go but never got around to it. So, when we won Afternoon Tea for two at a social media meetup in January we were absolutely delighted! Getting to ride London’s iconic vintage Routemaster is a treat, to do it whilst eating tasty cake… awesome!! 😊 😋 😎
Can’t wait to do it again!
